SacramentsCelebrating the SacramentsThe following brief information is provided to let you know when we celebrate the sacraments at St. Augustine. If you have any questions or need more details, call the Rectory. Sacrament of BaptismInstructions for parents and godparents are held at St. Augustine’s on the first Saturday of the even months (ex. Feb., Apr., etc…) at 10 a.m. in the Burke Wing. Instructions for parents and godparents are also held at The Church of The Ascension on the first Monday of every odd month (ex. Jan., Mar., May) at 7 PM. Please call St. Augustine Rectory to schedule a Baptism at least one month in advance. Sacrament of ReconciliationThe Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated each Saturday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. and anytime by appointment. For First Reconciliation for a child, contact Cathy Carlin at 410-796-8150. Sacrament of Holy EucharistThe Sacrament of Holy Eucharist is celebrated daily at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. If you cannot get to church to attend Mass, contact the Rectory to arrange a home visit. For First Communion for a child, contact Cathy Carlin at 410-796-8150. Sacrament of ConfirmationClasses begin in December for Confirmation. For more information, contact Kelly Coyle at 410-796-2720. For Confirmation as part of the RCIA program, contact Mary Jane Thomas at 410-564-2395. Sacrament of Anointing of the SickAnyone who is planning to enter a hospital for surgery, or is experiencing a prolonged and serious illness, or is very weak due to the advancement of age, should call the Rectory and arrange for the celebration of the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick. Sacrament of Holy MatrimonyArrangements for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony must be made with the Rectory at least SIX MONTHS before the wedding and before any other plans are made. Diocesan regulations for the celebration of the Sacrament are to be followed in the preparation for each marriage. Sacrament of Holy OrdersIf you interested in a religious vocation to the priesthood or the diaconate, contact Father John to get all the information and contacts you will need. Similarly, for religious vocations to the monastery or the convent, contact Father John.
